One God, without partner, equal, or need — described by His own beautiful names.
Allah is the proper name of God in Islam — not a different god, but the same one true Creator that earlier scriptures pointed to, now known by His own chosen name and described through His revealed attributes rather than human speculation.
The clearest short description in the Qur'an is Surah al-Ikhlas: He is One; He has no partner and no equal; He neither begets nor is begotten. Allah has no body you can picture and no image should ever be made to represent Him — knowing Him comes through His names (such as the Most Merciful, the All-Knowing, the All-Hearing) and His actions in creation, not through pictures or physical comparisons.
Getting to know Allah through His names is often the most emotionally grounding part of early faith: the more you learn what He is like, the more prayer and daily reliance on Him start to feel personal rather than mechanical.
